The I3N Technical Working Group (TWG) was established in March 2005 to support the development of I3N. It serves in an advisory role to the Coordinating Institution (CI) (National Biological Information Infrastructure) on particular technical aspects. It may, for example, evaluate tools and standards for consideration by the CI, identify common issues of data providers and I3N leads, and identify best practices in such invasive alien species (IAS) metadata. The TWG consists of no more than 10 volunteer members with interest and expertise in IAS. The I3N Manager, the Data Content Manager and the TN Coordinator of the IABIN Secretariat are ex oficio members.
