Result of the First Council Meeting:
IABIN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The IABIN Executive Committee will guide the operations of IABIN and execute the policy decisions of the IABIN Council.
The Executive Committee will consist of nine voting members, including:
- The Council Chair;
- The Council Vice-Chair; and
- Seven members elected at large according to the following criteria:
- Governmental geographical representation;
- Inclusion of up to two non-governmental representatives; and
- Interest and commitment.
An OAS representative and the Executive Secretary of the IABIN Hub (when selected) will be ex officio members of the Executive Committee, with voice but no vote.
Members of the Executive Committee will serve for three-year terms, staggered on a rotational basis with some members changing each year. An exception to this rule will be the first appointed Executive Committee, which will have members with one- and two-year terms to facilitate rotations in subsequent years.
The Chair of the IABIN Council will be the Chair of the Executive Committee.
The following Executive Committee was established by consensus at the First IABIN Council Meeting on December 14, 1999:
